How do you support a Lawpreneur?

  • Susan generously lays out some simple steps to improve our LinkedIn profiles us on the show:
    • Customize your profile URL.  LinkedIn makes this pretty easy.
    • Edit your headline.  Use key words and say what you do (not your position or job title).
    • Remember that your summary is the heart of your profile.  This is where you connect with y our audience.
      • Background is good (not a resume or bio).
      • Write your summary in the first person, it makes you more approachable.
      • Use LinkedIn’s media tools to add interviews to the summary to improve the power of you summary and to improve your searchability.
    • In your experience section, your goals should drive the positioning of your experience.  What you are currently focused on and looking to grow should be at the top of your experience section and then other positions can follow.
    • When sending a LinkedIn connection request, be sure to customize the request email.  LinkedIn is a networking platform, so start that networking with the request to connect.
